Born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina Ariel Rot started playing "rock en español" in Spain after teaming up with vocalist Alejo Stivel, drummer Manolo Iglesias, guitar player Julián Infante and bassist Felipe Lipe in a local outfit called Tequila. Their first record album called MatrÃcula de Honor came in 1978. The Spanish-Argentine quaternion disbanded in 1983 later issuing four records. Debajo del Puente became Ariel Rot's solo debut album, featuring the strike singles "Debajo del Puente," and "Veneno,". Nevertheless, ex-Los Abuelos de la Nada Andrés Calamaro linked him to piece a raw banding named Los RodrÃguez. They became a major routine in the Latin music scene after releasing the successful Sin Documentos. The gifted singer/guitarist and producer returned to his solo life history in 1997.

American Idol - The Other David Wins Idol
After being declared the champ by American Idol judges on Tuesday night, 17-year-old
David Archuleta saw voting viewers take the title away from him on Wednesday and
award it to 25-year-old David Cook. The show's judges on Tuesday were joined by se
veral talk-show hosts, entertainment magazine commentators, and newspaper columnists
in forecasting a win for the teenager. When host Ryan Seacrest announced on the show
Wednesday night that the final vote was not even close -- 56 percent to 44 percent
-- much of the audience appeared to believe that Archuleta was the big winner. Then,
just before the announcement, judge Simon Cowell, who had praised Archuleta the previous
night by saying that he had "won by a knockout," told Cook that he was sorry that
his words verged on the "disrespectful" to him. Cowell said that when he watched the
show at home, "it wasn't quite so clear cut as we called it." Seacrest said that
a record 97.5 million votes had been cast by viewers, with Cook winning by a margin
of 12 million.

Davina Mccall - Davina Mccall To Take Up Serious Acting
TV star DAVINA MCCALL has revealed that she wants to quit presenting to pursue serious acting roles.
She has even hired Michael Foster, the man who was behind BILLIE PIPER's transformation from songstress to actress, to mastermind the next stage of her career.
As part of her career move, Davina will reportedly quit her job as the face of BIG BROTHER when the ninth series ends this September.
"After doing so many series of Big Brother she's become bored," an insider tells the News Of The World, adding that she feels it is "the right time to move on".
"She's very excited and convinced that Michael can turn her into a serious actor."
Any roles that she is given will not be Davina's first acting gig she starred in the TV sitcom SAM'S GAME in the 1990s.
This follows news that songstress LILY ALLEN is also contemplating a career change and is turning her hand to comedy sketch writing along with her TV star pals JAMES CORDEN and MATTHEW HORNE of GAVIN AND STACEY fame.

UK summer festival cancelled due to 'credit crunch'
The organisers have blamed the general economic downturn for the festival's financial problems.
A statement on Waxonlive.com explained: "The festival fell victim not to poor ticket sales or lack of support and dedication, but to the credit crunch that has the UK in the grip of an economic stranglehold.
"This morning we have been informed that due to circumstances in the global financial market place and its knock on effect, the event has become unsustainable. We threw everything we had at the event to try and make it go ahead and we're really disappointed we couldn't see it through."
Yorkshire's Lotherton Hall was due to see performances from acts including Primal Scream, Reverend And The Makers and Hercules And Love Affair.
Ticket holders are advised to contact their place of purchase for refund.
The Wax:On club nights are still set to go ahead in Leeds, Newcastle and Brighton, however - see Waxonlive.com for details.
